The Connected Partner Program is Databricks' track for independent software vendors building on and alongside the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. Joining gives us access to the technical resources, sandbox environments, and partner engineering support needed to build and certify an integration.
Why the data platform is where agent governance gets hard
Most conversations about AI agent security start with the model. In practice, the risk concentrates somewhere less glamorous: the data layer.
Enterprise agents are increasingly pointed at the warehouse. They query customer records, trigger pipelines, generate reports, and write results back to production tables. That is where the value is, and it is also where the blast radius is. An agent with a broad service-account credential and a natural-language interface is a lot of authority in a place where mistakes are expensive.
The pattern we hear repeatedly from teams in regulated industries is consistent: getting an agent working against the data platform takes about a week. Getting security and compliance comfortable enough to let it run in production takes months. The demo is never the hard part.
Which agent did this, and was it allowed to?
When something goes wrong, or an auditor asks, most teams cannot answer those two questions cleanly. Agents share service credentials that say nothing about which agent is acting. Permissions are inherited wholesale rather than scoped to the task. And the audit trail is application logging that anyone with write access could have edited after the fact.
Vorim is built for exactly that gap. Every agent gets a cryptographic identity, so actions are attributable to a specific agent rather than a shared key. Permissions are scoped, time-bounded, and revocable, and narrow further each time authority is delegated from one agent to another. And every action is written to a signed, hash-linked audit trail that a regulator or counterparty can verify independently, without taking our word for it.
What comes next
The immediate work is technical: building our integration against the Databricks Well-Architected Framework and going through validation and certification with the Databricks partner engineering team. We will share more as that progresses.
The broader point is that agent governance cannot be bolted on after deployment. If an agent is going to act on production data, the identity, the permission boundary, and the evidence trail need to exist before it takes its first action, not be reconstructed afterwards from logs.
